Over 1000 participants from all over the world attended the 13th International Passive House Conference in Frankfurt/M.. They were introduced to the latest developments in energy efficient architecture. Togetehr with the Conference a Public Passive House Exhibition was organized presenting certified for passivhaus constructions systems and components. This year´s conference focused on themes such as Public Buildings, Public Initiatives to Promote the Passive House Standard, Refurbishment and Non-residential Buildings. The variety of reports at the conference was proof of its scope: they included i.a. the Passive House Standard appliance at public indoor swimming pools, Passive House solutions for retirement homes etc. The decision to hold the conference in Frankfurt was logical, since several hundred Passive House residential units have been built in this region in recent years, as well as schools and day-care centres. Conference participants visited many of these buildings via excursions.
